Bindery Services

“I deal with a lot of different companies and when I have a project that requires strict attention to detail, I go to Plastikoil of Pa. Complicated, intricate projects that have multiple characteristics involving embossing, foil-stamping, scoring, folding, and gluing - they handle them with no problem. Not only do they do it precisely, but it’s a real pleasure to work with them, too.” – Joe Petrick, PrimeSource Services,

Did you say...Plastikoil of Pennsylvania offers four different types of binding solutions: Plastikoil spiral

coil binding, GBC binding, Double Wire-O binding, and perfect binding. Depending on the

dimensions, budget, and purpose of your print project, we have a binding solution that

will add the perfect finishing touch.

Plastikoil® Binding
Our Plastikoil binding system drills round holes (five per inch) into the binding edge of paper stock and winds a spiral coil (an extrusion of scientifically formulated plastic) through the holes, resulting in a permanent binding that prevents pages from tearing and pulling apart.
Its open coil design allows publications to lay flat and to be opened a full 360 degrees, making this the perfect binding choice for cookbooks, phone directories, service manuals, flip charts, computer documentation, and children’s books. Add an optional thumb-cut tab and you have the perfect binding for calendars and wall charts.

Plastikoil is considered to be the finest quality coil binding on the market today, unmatched in durability, color consistency, and ease of use. Plastikoil bindings can’t scratch or snag, won’t chip or crack, and won’t get bent out of shape - even during shipping.

With coil diameters ranging in size from 0.25 to 2 inches (5 mm to 50 mm) and with custom lengths up to 43 inches (107 cm), Plastikoil bindings can handle just about any publication binding job.

In designing their publications, customers find Plastikoil binding to be an attractive choice. We have 45 colors available - from primary, pastel, neon, and metallic colors to a dozen PMS colors - giving you lots of creative freedom and keeping your publication brand consistent.

In response to our customers’ environmental concerns and needs to comply with international standards, we’ve introduced two new lines of plastic coil binding. Envirokoil is a mechanical binding with the highest recycled content on the market. PETG-Koil is made of PETG compounds as required by some of our international customers.

GBC Binding
The GBC binding system drills narrow, rectangular holes into the binding edge of paper stock and inserts a rounded plastic comb binding into the holes. The comb is closed on one edge, allowing for an imprintable spine. All other edges of the comb are open, allowing pages to be removed and replaced.

We offer GBC binding as an inexpensive alternative to our other bindery services, giving you yet more options for designing and binding your publications.
