About Us

“Not long ago, I was a senior in the Graphic Design Program at Carnegie Mellon University, and was looking for help to bind my final project. Those at Plastikoil of Pennsylvania may not remember my little red and black calendar project, but they did a fantastic job binding them with silver coil. I want to thank them for their friendly and generous support. Now that I am out in the ‘world of design,’ I always recommend Plastikoil of Pennsylvania.” – Jennifer Zieserl, Ballay Design, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Plastikoil of Pennsylvania Inc. is a full-service bindery located in southwestern Pennsylvania, about 20 minutes north of Pittsburgh. As a family owned-and-operated business, our company has grown and changed over the years, but one thing remains constant: We are bound and determined to provide our customers with the best possible service to ensure the best possible finish to their print projects.

Plastikoil is bound by:

Family & Reputation
Don and Marian Barkley founded Plastikoil of Pennsylvania in 1984 in the family’s barn. Over the next five years, Plastikoil grew into a full-service bindery and the Barkleys’ three sons - Marty, Matthew, and Robie - joined the family business. Jeff Barkley (second from right) is president and owner of his own sporting goods sales firm. The Barkley family now manages a workforce of 50 at a modern, 45,000-square-foot facility in southwestern Pennsylvania.

As a family owned-and-operated business, Plastikoil of Pennsylvania and the Barkleys have earned a national reputation for customer satisfaction, quality, and innovation. We attribute our business success to the values and respect we extend to each other, our employees, and our customers. This is what keeps Plastikoil together - and sets us apart.

Customer Satisfaction
Our long-standing commitment to customer satisfaction is rooted in company founder Don Barkley. From the time he was 14 working as a manual laborer in homebuilding to his early career as a general contractor, Don set the standard for Plastikoil’s work ethic of doing whatever it takes to get the job done for our customers.

“Service is inherent in everything we do. Our customers come first. We do whatever it takes to get the job done - on time and on budget. You might say we have a binding commitment.”
– Matt Barkley

Innovation
In less than 20 years, Plastikoil of Pennsylvania has grown from being the first United States dealer of Plastikoil to being the leading Plastikoil® binding source in the country. We attribute that growth to implementing new ideas and equipment, excellent partnerships with suppliers and customers, and a forward-thinking workforce. We are always looking for new ways to serve you better!
